The Virginia State University Trojan Warrior ROTC Program’s Hall of Fame aims to recognize and honor individuals whose service embodies exceptional contributions, dedication, and patriotism. These military and civilian individuals have significantly impacted the United States Army and the Trojan Warrior ROTC Program, enhancing Virginia State University's image and reputation through their exemplary service and achievements. An Inductee’s service is a source of inspiration and pride for all of us.
Nominations are officially open for the prestigious Virginia State University Trojan Warrior ROTC Hall of Fame – and we’re calling on YOU to help us recognize the extraordinary leaders among us.
This is your opportunity to honor those who have exemplified leadership, service, and commitment to the values of Virginia State University and the U.S. Army. Whether it's a trailblazing officer, a quiet force of impact, or a mentor whose legacy runs deep, now is the time to tell their story.
Key Dates to Remember:
August 1, 2025: Nominations officially open
September 12, 2025 (by 11:59 PM ET): Deadline to submit completed nomination packets
November/December 2025: Provisional notifications sent to selected nominees
January 2026: Official announcement of inductees
March/April 2026: Honorees inducted at the 2026 VSU ROTC Military Ball

At the approval of the VSUMAC Board of Directors, the following categories of Nominees are eligible to be uncontestably inducted into the VSU Trojan Warrior ROTC Hall of Fame:
1. Any military or civilian demonstrating superb, excellent leadership may be considered for a posthumous award in the VSU Trojan Warrior ROTC Hall of Fame.
2. Any active duty or retired Colonel/0-6 or above who is a member in good standing of a VSUAA-affiliated Chapter and who meets the established membership criteria and the Nomination Eligibility Criteria.
3. Any VSUMAC Honorary members who are in good standing and meet the established membership criteria according to the VSUMAC Bylaws.
4. Nominees who, in accordance with the VSUMAC Chapter Bylaws, meet the criteria of Associate Membership are eligible to be nominated for induction into the Hall of Fame.
The general eligibility criteria for being considered as a Nominee into the VSU Trojan Warrior ROTC’s Hall of Fame are as follows:
1. Alumni Status: The individual must be an alumnus of the VSU Trojan Warrior ROTC Hall of Fame program, which includes commissioned officers from the affiliated universities, St. Paul’s College and Virginia Union University, Richard Bland College and J Sargent Reynolds Community College.
2. Service to the Army: Demonstrated exceptional service, dedication, and patriotism in the United States Army.
3. Impact on VSU Trojan Warrior ROTC Hall of Fame Program: Exceptional contributions to the VSU Trojan Warrior ROTC program, enhancing its growth, development, and reputation.
4. Professional Achievement: Exceptional accomplishments in their professional military career, showcasing leadership and excellence.
5. Community Contributions: Active involvement and contributions to a community, reflecting positively on the university and the VSU Trojan Warrior ROTC program. This includes active participation and contributions within the community, especially those that highlight the impact on Virginia State University and the VSU Trojan Warrior ROTC program. This criterion does not apply to active-duty military nominees, as they may not have enough time for community involvement."
6. Upholding Values: Embodiment of the core values and mission of the VSU Trojan Warrior ROTC and the United States Army.
7. Time Since Graduation: A minimum of achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel or the equivalent rank and grade of Lieutenant Colonel since College/University graduation.
