The 80th Anniversary of the Virginia State University ROTC Department is more than a milestone, it is a celebration of eight decades of leadership, service, sacrifice, and excellence. Since 1947, the VSU ROTC program has prepared generations of leaders who have answered the call to serve with distinction in every component of the Armed Forces and have continued to make meaningful contributions in government, business, education, public service, and communities around the world. This anniversary is an opportunity to honor those who built the foundation of our program, recognize the achievements of our alumni, celebrate the accomplishments of our current cadets, and reaffirm our commitment to developing the next generation of Trojan Warrior leaders.

Throughout the coming year, the VSU Military Alumni Chapter and the VSU ROTC Department will host a series of commemorative events and initiatives designed to reconnect our Trojan Warrior family and celebrate our shared legacy. Alumni and supporters can look forward to historical features highlighting the department's rich heritage, distinguished alumni and military leader spotlights, interactive social media campaigns, cadet stories, community engagement opportunities, scholarship fundraising initiatives, mentorship programs, commemorative merchandise, and special recognition events leading up to our signature celebration—the 80th Anniversary Military Ball on April 24, 2027.
